I'm Ashley, and my husband Jamin and I have 4 kids and are serving college students in St. Petersburg, Russia. At this phase of life with little ones, I find myself mostly at home caring for our family, or taxi-ing kids back and forth to and from school and pre-school. I also enjoy discipling women when I have the chance, serving my team, and reaching out to other young mothers in my community. I consider it evidence of the Lord's miraculous power that I am serving long-term in ministry in Russia and truly enjoying it. I had never imagined moving more than a 30 minutes drive from where I grew up, but the Lord's will is perfect and He knows us far better than we know ourselves! This adventure that we live is certainly not easy, but what a blessed adventure! I love connecting with other missionary women and praise God for this special opportunity that we have here to gather and encourage one another, even from thousands of miles apart. This is what I have written here so far.

Hi, I'm Heather and  I have been walking out my salvation for the last 17 years.  Married that long as well, I have two beautiful middle school daughters and a dog that somehow I allowed to become a family member!  I am back home after five years in full time missions. Islamic Central Asia was good to us, Kansas is where the Lord drew us back to. I learned a number of life changing lessons along the way. God celebrates beauty and never asked me to trade glitter and mascara for beige. Being a woman and celebrating our feminine giftings is crucial in bringing His Kingdom to earth. I learned also to depend on the presence of Holy Spirit.  I left for training years ago a doer. I've come home understanding that I must spend equal time on my knees, as on my feet.  Teaching and serving the local church again is so sweet. Walking out consistency is the call on my heart for 2016.  I hope to impart this to you. We are first-generation followers of Jesus, raising a family in the midst of truly discovering how good our Father is. The time is now, this season is teeming with opportunities to Bring glory to our Father. Won't  you join me?  You can check out our family blog here and here's what I've written for Missionary Mom's Companion.

I'm Liz and along with my husband Noah and our three boys, we live in Costa Rica and work alongside some amazing people at Iglesia Uníon.  We work under the national church leadership to bring a deeper level of discipleship to the Body here. We're excited to be a part of what God is doing in Latin America.  Here are all my Missionary Mom's Companion posts. I also blog at A Part of the Whole; come on over sometime!

I'm Phyllis, a mom of four in Ukraine. We've moved here seven years ago, after being forced out of Russia, where we had spent almost seven years. We work with an orphan ministry called Agape. Our family blog is Hunsucker's Home. Honestly, I'm not much of a volume writer, so you'll hear more from the other wonderful contributors to this blog; I enjoy organizing their posts and writing when I can. If you'd like to do just one or a few guest posts, I'll be happy to put them up for you. Please contact me at fylliska@gmail.com.)

Hi! I’m Richelle, wife to Tim and mama to a mostly happy, very noisy gang of 8, ranging in ages from 20 to almost 7… 2 boys and 6 girls. After over 13 years serving in West Africa, the Lord has transplanted our family to Quebec City, Canada. My husband ministers as a techie in a recording and production studio – making evangelistic and discipleship audio, visual and internet tools and materials for use though out the French speaking world. I’m keeping myself more than busy helping our six children transition into French language school, discipling our university students from afarm volunteering some at the school and with a local community center, teaching English and Sunday School and helping the studio where my husband works with publicity. I’ve known since I was five years old that the Lord wanted me to be a missionary; our entire family loves this life God has given. I blog regularly here and as of recent months, less frequently than I’d like to at our family blog: Our Wright-ing Pad

Hello, ladies! I'm Sarah. My journey in missions began when I was little as my parents introduced me to many missionaries and internationals. I began to dream of being a missionary someday and God gave me opportunities to be engaged in international missions in various ways for years. Six years ago, my experience got stepped up a notch (ok, way more notches than I was ready for!) when my husband and I moved to Costa Rica with our 3 month old firstborn. Life has been a wonderfully crazy adventure ever since! While my first ministry is with our two precious kiddos, my husband and I work closely with a local Costa Rican church to train church leaders and members in order to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Eph 4:12). We do this by working with the men’s and women’s ministries of the church, conducting in-depth Bible studies, engaging in discipleship, and by establishing a Spanish-speaking Bible institute. I love connecting with other women and am excited to get to know you all through this community! Here are my posts on this blog so far.

Hi, I am Becka King missionary to Loja, Ecuador. My husband and I have a full-time ministry at El Sendero Cafe, a youth center in the heart of Loja. I also juggle full-time motherhood to my three children. I love my life, my family, and most of all, my Savior. Every day I get to do what I love most, share my love for Jesus with my family and with the students in the city where I live! It isn't always easy, but it is always blessed. My hobbies are reading, watching court dramas (I miss Matlock), and talking. Sometimes I put that talking into writing on our missions blog. My favorite color is green (I am slightly obsessed), my favorite movie is "Wild Hearts Can't be Broken," and my favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:8. These are all my Missionary Mom's Companion blog posts.

I’m Betsy, and I serve with my husband and two teenagers in Western Turkey. Most days I feel blessed and privileged to be here; other days I want to pull out my hair, but God gives me grace for every day. I fell in love with Turks when I spent two years in Istanbul in my mid-twenties, and I was amazed when God brought me back here with my Salvadoran husband and kids in 2002 after seven years in Central America. Our ministry is church planting, but I spend most of my time caring for my family and homeschooling. Opening our home, being available, and cooking meals for people have been simple keys to our ministry. My passion is discipling Turkish women through friendship. The two life messages I want to share with them are God’s unconditional love and the power of His Word to transform our lives, but I have received and learned much more I’ve given from my Turkish friends. My Missionary Moms posts are here. I also blog at Faith Spilling Over.

Hi! My name is Cherie and I absolutely love missions! It has been my passion ever since I was 13 years old. My husband (Dale), daughter (Ashleigh - 17), and I have served in Germany with TeachBeyond since 2012. I am an admin assistant to two different directors and serve as coordinator of the Bridge Language Center - bridging German and English speakers. We also have a son, Jordan. He is 21 and has just graduated from his 2nd year from the Masters Commission program in Stuttgart, Germany. My hobbies include traveling, baking, writing and hanging out with my family. Please read more about my journey at blog.antrimsabroad.com. Or read my posts here.

I’m Christie, wife of Ken, mom of two teen girls. We made the move from South Carolina to the heart of South America four years ago, where we minister to teens and young adults in Encarnación, Paraguay. We operated a youth center a few hours from our current location until Ken’s unexpected open-heart surgery and Christie’s equally unexpected femur break necessitated a move closer to the city. We’re working at the local youth prison and in the process of opening another youth center in our new location. Between ministry, hosting guests, language learning, and homeschooling, I try to squeeze in reading in the hammock, playing flute, hacking my blogs, and exercising. You can read about our missions adventures at Hagermans on a Mission, and my book reviews at Hammock Librarian. These are my posts for Missionary Moms Companion.

My name is Chrysti, and I'm blessed to be the wife of my wonderful husband, Leon and mummy to our son, Asher. We serve with Operation Mobilisation (OM) at their international headquarters located in the north of England. Leon works in the IT department. I’m a stay at home mum, and when I have time, I write Sunday School materials for OM and serve in our local church office. This is what I have written here. I also blog at Hedding Somewhere.

I'm Danielle and I am living and working in the beautiful Central American country of El Salvador with my husband Jon and our two kids, Victoria and Ian. We work in the capital city of San Salvador with an organization called Mission to El Salvador. My husband directs the El Salvador office and ministers to men, women, and children on the streets. I am focused on our two kids, but I also coordinate our ministry to women and girls who have been sexually exploited through prostitution and human trafficking. It's been a long journey from suburban America to urban ministry in El Salvador but God has been good to us through it all. I blog about our life and work on the Mission to El Salvador website. This is a link to all my Missionary Moms posts.

Hi, I'm Jen. I'm a missionary wife and mum in the Northern Territory of Australia, otherwise known as the Top End. I grew up in a Christian home, and was saved at a young age. In Bible College I surrendered to missions, in my heart thinking I'd be a pastor's wife in NYC. I met my husband in Bible College. Patrick had been called to Australia at the age of 6. We joke that God called Patrick to Australia, and He called me to Patrick. In 2004, we were able to take a survey trip to Australia, where I clearly felt the Lord calling me here. It was a moment I will never forget. After 2 years of deputation and a 3 year visa wait, we are "finally" here. I have finally in quotes because it's finally in my eyes, but it was all in God's perfect timing. Isaiah 55:8-9 are some of my favorite verses, and helped me through the long wait. I have two children Autumn (9) and Cody (4). We homeschool, and I really enjoy having my kids at home (most days!). I love photography and scrapbooking. I'm excited to see what the Lord is going to do here, and how He is going to use us. I'm humbled that He chose our family to serve Him here. And my prayer is that my life will be one that pleases Him. God is good...all the time! Here are my posts on this blog. I also blog at Be Thou Exalted and Baptist Missionary Women.

Karen - My husband Doug and I serve in Odessa, Ukraine. We have two children - Luke (20) and Katie (17).   We are back on the field after an extended furlough, and Luke is working in Florida, so its just the three of us. My husband is gospel literature translation coordinator for our team and for our institute. My main tasks are caring for our family and homeschool, and I am also involved in discipleship, teaching English, helping in SS with crafts, and hospitality. I'm not much of a writer, but I do enjoy sharing my experiences with others! Here are my Missionary Mom's Companion postsMy wooly-headed thoughts is my personal blog.

Hi! My name is Tammy and I have had the joy of serving alongside my husband of 27 years in East Africa since 1995. The Lord has blessed us with 3 children. We arrived in Kenya when they were just little tykes. Now they are grown and have families of their own. Our daughter is now in high school. She has come full-circle having been born in a mission hospital within walking distance of where she now attends boarding school. My main ministry is still my husband and children, but the Lord has also opened up more opportunities of ministry amongst the pastor's wives here in Tanzania. I love to see my kitchen full of laughing ladies as we learn how to cook something; the joy on their faces as they better understand a biblical truth; and to listen as they carry the burdens of one another to the Father in prayer. My life isn't always easy, but it is definitely FULL OF JOY!  Here's a link to what I have written in this community.

  1. Most everyone I see on this blog are serving in some way overseas. Is there a way to send encouragement to your mothers and fathers who go on with life without you. In the past year I have watch a very dear friend first hand as the mother of a medical missionary. She has needed just as much encouraging words as her daughter and family who are now heading to the Congo. Any direction or assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you for what you do in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
