Tuesday Topic: Connecting with supporters

Ashley suggested that I take some questions from the comments on this post, so here's one: What are creative ways you use on the field to connect with supporters and let them know you care about them and are praying for them?

(If you have a “Tuesday Topic” question, please email it to me at fylliska@gmail.com. Provide your blog address if you would like to be linked to, or specify if you would like to remain anonymous. Thanks!)

  1. We send postcards to our supporters once or twice a year. We also send out our updates once a month. Also, it hasn't happened recently because we just had a baby, but we take a couple of weeks every so often to ring supporters in the US. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it!

  2. I'm with Chrysti on the newsletters and post cards! We also try to send out less formal emails (we've tried to get the email addresses of as many ministry partners as possible) and always close by reminding our supporters about how much we care about them and would love to hear what is going on in their lives and to know how we can be praying for them. I love it every time someone responds and allows us to be a part of their lives and praying for their needs. I would love to hear other ideas if people have them!

  3. I stumbled across this idea today, and though I'd share it... Make a personal video to let your individual supporters know you care for them. We're not very big video people, but we might give it a try. Some friends of ours also send their monthly updates out in a video format.
